Adeagbo who is also known as AMIFAS stated this while inaugurating the Local Government Legislative Council recently. He said the yearning of the people should be their priority.
According to him " I want to urge you all to be conscious of the fact that people are expecting much from us. We must work harmoniously to ensure that our people enjoy full dividends of democracy. Let our focus be on service to our people at this critical period of our national existence as a country " he stated.
However, the LG Boss enjoined the House to make laws that will promote and develop the LG Area, he said laws that will have positive impact on the people.
In addition, he admonished them that " We must not disappoint His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde who has ensured that we have democratic structure at the Local Government level in Oyo State. We should be ready to replicate the good deeds of His Excellency in the State and at the grassroots level. We must not disappoint our people who voted us into office with the full hope that their interest will be taken care of.
In his acceptance speech, the Leader of the House, Hon Taiwo Waheed Adekunle solicited for full support of the Executive arm led by Hon Adeagbo, Councilors, Staff and Party stalwarts.
Other Principal Officers elected alongside him were Hon. Okunade Joseph Ademola, Deputy Leader, Hon Raji Jelil Ayinde, Majority Leader and Hon Adeleke Ojo Abiodun, Chief Whip.
Earlier in his own remarks the Head of local Government Administration, Mr S.A Ilori enjoined the Legislative Council to always follow the rules and regulations guiding the operations of the Legislature at the Local Government level.
He assured them of full cooperation of LG Staff, he said the Clerk of the House will guide them on how to move the house forward.
The occasion was attended by Mrs Ronke Korede, Director of Administration and General Services, who is also the the clerk of the House, Heads and Deputies of department and sectional Heads.
The PDP Chairman in the LG Alhaji Jimoh Adesope and other party stalwarts were also in attendance.
